The University of Chicago Center in Paris The University of Chicago Center in Paris will enable and promote scholarly collaboration with partner institutions, at the levels of both instruction and research. We already have working arrangements with the University of Paris-IX (Dauphine); the University of Paris-IV (Sorbonne); the University of Paris-VI (Pierre et Marie Curie); the University of Paris-X (Nanterre); the Ecole Normale Superieure; and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques. These contacts will undoubtedly open conduits to other institutions of higher education and research. Various collaborative projects between Chicago faculty and students and French university faculty and students will allow for synergy that could not occur in any other location in France. We imagine the Center as a dynamic location where a sense of place will encourage rigorous and innovative academic programs appropriate to University of Chicago graduate and undergraduate students, and their French counterparts, in the context of a most cosmopolitan and culture-rich environment. |
